Dispartities in internet usage for healthcare

Seniors are the fastest growing group of internet users, driven by the fact that they still use the internet less than younger people. This study from Kaiser Permanente showed that although over 75% of seniors completed the assisted registration process, less than a third of Black and Latino seniors ever used the online portal. The numbers dropped to about 20% for older seniors. Although these usage percentages will increase over time, we need to continue to improve face-to-face and phone communications with this vulnerable group.
